About  the Author

Nancy Mathis is a native Oklahoman and a veteran journalist. She was an award winning reporter with the Tulsa World, Tulsa Tribune and Daily Oklahoman. She spent a decade in the Washington Bureau of the Houston Chronicle where she covered Congress and President Clinton's White House.

Nancy was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma (which also was struck by an F5 twister a few years before her birth) and was raised in Tahlequah. She attended Northeastern State University at Tahlequah and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1980 with a journalism degree.

She left journalism in 2000 and works in media relations. Storm Warming is her first book.  Currently, Nancy is working on a second book proposal - also weather related. She lives in Silver Spring, Maryland.
